Sometimes it is necessary to let go.

The time spent on things that will never be is not lost nor wasted. Everything around it may keep on moving but that doesn't mean it was not beautiful.

This was one of the images I made for the magazine cover project but ended up being scrapped as it just wasn't working with the other images visually and didn't fit into the style of the series with the covers. Even though the process was tedious, with each ray of paper cut and pasted down one by one meticulously, I don't regret it being made and not used; sometimes it's necessary to let go.

It reminds me of instances in our life when we get caught up on things we thought would be worthwhile only to realise that it didn't quite work out as we wanted it to be. And maybe we can torment over the lost and time we called wasted but I think there's always something beautiful left in the trail of abandonment.

I want this picture to be a reminder that even though there is melancholy, everything is worth it in the end. Every mark makes its imprint. Everything has its own value. Something beautiful can always bloom from things that don't work out.
